What we did in Lockdown...

The Bassett Bears Hug were happy to have their human friends home throughout the 2020 Covid-19 Lockdown. This meant lots of fun and things to do.

The first job for us all was to help decorate the Hug room. Luckily this had already been planned in February so we did not have to go buy the paint and preparation items. Although we did get into quite some mischief hiding under the Fair awning and generally trying our best not to get painted.

We have a lovely new piece of wall are that reminds us all that "Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without" - everyone who has a bear can relate to this we are sure.

A fabulous pair of vintage curtains were also found to brighten up our Hug.

The room is divided into sections, Bailey's office (where Jane and Steve can work on the website, blog and facebook page) when he can spare the room! The office also has an antique school desk for us to use when reading or learning new things.

There is a bedroom area with vintage cot and high/low chair, for quiet reflection and sleep and also the living area with plenty of floor space for games and bike riding etc, easy chairs and rocking chairs for us to tell stories and enjoy each others company.

We are still hanging pictures and adding finishing touches, such as places to climb and sit up high so that we can easily see out of the window (not just by sitting on Bailey's desk).

Our time during lockdown has been fun for us but there are some great stories out therein Interweb land, such as the love story of two bears in Stoke on Trent (https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-trent-news/lockdown-love-affair-between-two-4140819) and the fabulous adventures of the West Kirby bears who had their own Instagram page @lockdownbears. It is well worth checking out the other bear lockdown stories to warm your heart.
